Piggy Bank Vs. Clickbank
The other day I mentioned those check things that my parents receive in the mail always put a smile on their faces. Today I heard them talking about one of those places they come from called Clickbank.
I know what a piggy bank is (I mentioned previously I got a Winnie The Pooh one for Christmas) but what the heck is a Clickbank? I needed to seriously find out what this place was since it seemed really important to the parents. Off I went on my quest for online marketing knowledge…
It seems Clickbank is the premier online retail outlet for digital products. A digital product is something that can be immediately accessed once your online payment has been confirmed. For example, an ebook, piece of software, videos, or access to a members area. Wow, talk about instant gratification! (Sort of like when I make my squawking noise, I get my bottle served up)
There are thousands of products available for sale at Clickbank. Alternatively, there are hundreds of thousands of people who are allowed to sell those products and earn a substantial commission for doing so. These are called affiliates. As an affiliate of Clickbank, we can immediately advertise and market any product available in their marketplace. If we are successful, we earn a commission up to 75% of the sale price. Once we have made 5 sales to 5 different credit card numbers, we start receiving checks on a bi-weekly basis. If we are really fortunate enough to live in one of a select few countries, we can even receive our weekly payments directly to our bank accounts. (That’s what mom was chattering about today - she finally entered our bank details and made the switch)
The products available for sale in the Clickbank marketplace cover a huge range of niches. I found marketing material, how to golf, herbal remedy solutions, and even how to potty train a dog. You can advertise these niches on your blog, your website, in emails, and even offline. Most vendors even provide graphics we can use, ad copy, adwords suggestions, and email templates. They want us to succeed because when we succeed they make money too.
Almost everyone immediately qualifies as an affiliate and can begin advertising the products with the simple click of their mouse. I guess that’s why it is called Clickbank…
